Butterflies are more than just beautiful; they are beneficial to the environment and your garden. Pollinators, including the monarch butterfly, play an integral part in the production of about one-third of the food that we eat! Unfortunately, their populations have been in steady decline.
In honor of Pollinator Week, June 15–21, 2015, Botanical Interest Seeds is offering a way everyone can help the monarch butterfly with their regional Butterfly Garden Seed Collections! Each Butterfly seed collection includes varieties selected specifically for your region that support the monarch life cycle, while promising a spectacular show of colors, heights, and blooms. Native milkweed provides food for the monarch caterpillars; zinnias and the flowers in the mixes provide habitat and nectar for butterflies and other pollinators.
We believe that as home gardeners, we can help all pollinators by growing pollinator-friendly varieties in our home, school, and community gardens. Join us!
